wet dry filter

I recently purchase a 90 gallon aquarium with an overflow. I want to
do a saltwater tank with a little bit of live rock. Probably not
enough to have the rock be the biological filter. I am looking to
find a good wet dry filer for my tank. If there is anyone who could
give me a recommendation for a good website to buy form. I am also
looking for recommendations for what brand to buy. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Invest in the live rock, once you have it, you have it.

Your not gonna find many wet/dry advocates in this group.

the OP cross posted his request for information,

the rec.aquaria.marine.reefs group is the only real active group of the chosen groups.

in a reef the wet dry competes with LR/DSB and other more "natrual" filters.

the fact that the OP said its a FO should have lead him to some place like

or some other vendor that sells wet drys

generally a good deal, in a 90 you can buy either. its sump based, effecient and small,
and fairly inexpensive. it comes with the wheel and plastic sump.

wet/dry are great, I use them in my African tanks. NOT in my salt. buy the
Live Rock. you won't regret it.

Given the cross-posting on the original message and the fact that W/D
filters have been out of favor on marine tanks for around 10 years, I
think people are going to assume you're trolling.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, please do the research into using
live rock and a deep sand bed for chemical filtration as opposed to a W/D
"nitrate factory". Unless, of course, you enjoy doing frequent massive
water changes and paying for salt you don't need to buy...

I find that as long as I keep the media nice and clean I have no nitrate
issues. I built the w/d myself, with this in mind, so the media Thick spun
glass sheets) slides out in a second, is easy to rinse, and slides right
back in. Take me less that 2 minutes a couple times a week. Course I suppose
it's not a *true* w/d....... and I can't afford 400 bucks worth of LR.

Do some research on BASE Rock which is basically "dead"rock then you can
seed it with just a little LR.

It will take time but eventually, all your base rock will become live rock.
