I have a 20 gallon tank with a large batch of Cich. Spilurum fry. I'm using a
mini Aqua Clear filter with a sponge that covers the intake strainer. I'm
hoping there won't be too many casualties with overly curious fry checking out
that sponge.... Suggestions here?

Are daily H20 changes with my python recommended? How many times per day do I
feed these little fry? I'm using an Argent product called Cyclop-eeze, a very
highly rated food for fry. Anything you have to offer regarding the raising of
these fry would be greatly appreciated!

Hi!

I think you've solved the filtering part pretty nice. Since I'm using mini
Fluvals, I've been using a cut-off panty hose from my wifes wardrobe to
cover the intake Wink This has worked fine. I guess your sponge will do
pretty much the same job, as long as the media isn't too coarse.

IME, daily water changes is a must for any fry, but I have to add that I use
only a 7 gallon tank for fry. I guess that you'll be able to reduce the
frequency of H2O changes in your somewhat large fry tank. If you end up
doing daily water changes, the fry won't suffer from it Surprised)

I usually feed the fry 3-4 times per day. I usually feed with live artemia
that is hatched in a couple of soda bottles. Feeding live food is a real
growth booster, IME. I use artemia a couple of times per day, and in
addition I feed with dried fry food once or twice per day.
