Has a white spot or growth on pectoral fin ...that wont go away. Possible
lateral line erosion or hole in the head that has somewhat stopped and
turned to white blotchy craters and holes...have tried all sorts of meds
....getting tired of watching a sickly fish, however, He does eat well and is
active. any suggestions?

Sounds like scarring from the HTH.. This will never disappear. Just keep up
on the water changes for your Friend..

the white spot or growth on pectoral fin is new for a week now...the other
scars and craters are very slowly healing , and has been a long time.... a
few months at least ...not sure what to do...will he ever get somewhat
healthy? Has a tinfoil barb in the same tank the develpoed the same white
spot or growth on its nose ...same is active and eats well

Have you checked water parameters?? It sounded like HTH, which can happen
to Oscars easily, as they seem vert supcetable to this. But the Tinfoil
barb... Perhaps my train of though is a little far off, you mentioned you
have treated with meds and no real change... Work with water changes for a
while... Perhaps 20% two or three times a week for the nexxt while, see if
it slows down or stops spreading.. Perhaps someone else might have a better
suggestion to this matter...??
