I'm looking at an aquarium that has a built in filtration system, and
a self regulating heater. Is this a good thing as I've never heard of
it or seen it before. I need to know quick as they guy needs an
answer within the hour. Thanks!

It is a 75 gal with the equipment along the back. I don't know the
model or anything else about it.... I'm not sure of the fish load I
will be putting in it, but I will talk about it here and elsewhere
before I populate it.

How much would a used system like this run?

Thank you sooooo much for the help. Yes, I am formally addicted.

There is insufficient information. There used to be models like this with
the equipment along the back, and today there are models with it integrated
into the canopy. It limits your options and flexibility, but it's not
necessarily a bad thing. If your fishload is normal or low, they are fine.
For higher fishload, you can add a little extra filtration. If your
fishloads will be very high, then you will not like the integrated stuff.
Does that help?

I ended up not getting that one. But I will be looking out for
another larger aquarium in the near future. Smile
