I have a 55 gallon tank that is about 22 years old and hasn't been used for
the last 12 years or so. It has been in storage in a damp moldy basement.
Is it worth trying to clean it up and use or is it likely to leak?

Thanks,

Mike

Fill it with water, if it holds then fine. I've got tanks over 30 years
old and still going strong, at least one of which was in store for at
least 10 years. Silicon does not degenerate with age.

Even if it does leak a good clean and a blob of silicon will cure it.

I'm not sure how silicon is going to help with a fish tank.

I'd recommend using silicone, myself.

Bah, flame me, couldn't resist. Feeling ornery this morning.
