Are all Kiilies short lifespan?

Will they all die within one year?

Will they handle a larger tank, say a 55 versus a 5 or 10?

If any work in a larger tank, which ones are the most colorful?

What is the best Temp for Killies? 76 (all in
farenheit)

Do they do well in a planted tank?

I bought 4 over a year ago and still have one female left that is huge
and will never die no matter how much I want her to. (I don't really
want her to die, i rather enjoy her. It's just her habit of eating
anything/one that will fit in her mouth. Hell, she eats fish that are
bigger and they hang out the end of her mouth

They were/are in a 55G and going great. She tends to stay at the top of
the tank unless she's hunting things.

No idea, I've only seen the one I have which is a Gold Wonder.

She's been fine from 68-90 and was not effected by ick at all when the
tank got it.

She was fine in the tank with plants.

Thanks Ben!

I have been reading and reading about how beautiful these fish are...
but I kept seeing statements that they were shorter lifespan.

I don't really want to mess with a fish that is only going to last
from Spring till Fall. I am hoping to find someone around my area in
NE PA that 'carries' or deals with Killies.

I am just looking for a colorful fish that is NOT on the normal
'community' fish tank stage. From the pictures I have seen, Killies
are a lot more colorful than a plain red platy.. varigated colors or
spots of different colors etc... seems like that would be more
interesting to watch.

I bought a pair last sping but they both died in November... about 3
or 4 weeks apart. They were very pretty. I just didn't realize that
I only had two males at the time I bought them or I would have gotten
a couple more to allow them to mate and propagate.

Oh well. Live and learn I guess.
