Why did my Guppy die?

I could find no visible signs of an illness. He was listless for a couple
days and wasn't interested in eating. The guppy also sat at the bottom, and
swam funny, which I understand is typical for dying fish. The other fish in
my tank (including two other guppies) appear healthy and just love eating.
Also, I had one batch of baby ballon mollies, which eventually all became
listless and died, a few at a time over the span of about a week. Another
batch, of which there is only one fry left (his siblings must of gotten
eaten in the tank, but I eventually noticed him and put him in a breeding
tank), is very healthy and grew-up a lot faster than the other fry.
Could anybody give me any insights on this? I didn't find anything in any
aquarium books that helps. Is it likely there is any relation between the
baby mollies dying and the guppy? I was suspecting a batch of weak babies,
and not disease, because the fry from the other batch is thriving.

Maybe it was a sudden heart attack.

Did you get your water tested? What are the levels of Ammonia,
Nitrites, Nitrates? What kind of filter do you have? How often do
you do water changes?

I just getting into fish keeping and bought some guppies from my local "fish
shop" and I bought 2 females and 1 male as they suggested to get and 1 male
and 1 female died, and 1 female OK, I only bought them on Sunday.

I went back to the shop today and they said I should take a sample of the
water back for them to test for me or they might replace the fish?

The shop told me that the problem was me over-feeding and taking too much
water out when it was changed.

I have had the same problem with my first 2 batches of fish. all my water
was fine and they first told me to put salt in then they said to condition
the water. Honestly half the time don't think they even know they just
make a few extra dollars. After 2 batch's I started watching the fish for
about 20 mintues before buying them. I make sure they look well feed,
healty no visiable defects and healthy fines. Since then all my fish have
been fine no more deaths so good luck!
