Hi All,

Just got my first aquarium (only 35 litres) and it's busy doing all the good
stuff with the bacteria, water conditioning etc. While it's doing that, I
would appreciate some advice on with what to stock it.

My daughter is set on a couple of standard type Angel fish but after a
little advice and research it seems they can be a bit of a liability with
other species, particularly if they are smaller than the Angels.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on what other species will do well with
the Angels (in the tank I have)? Ideally something with a bit of colour and
not too big, as I'd like to have about 5 or 6 fish in total but obviously
don't want to overcrowd the tank.

Many thanks,

Mark

Ive got a 75litre tank with one huge Angel. Along with it i have 10 Platys
and 4 catfish - Platys brighten up the tank with colour while catfish keep
the tank clean. A well planted aquarium, if you have a light, and it will
look beautiful.
Alternatively, try any of these:

What you have got to watch out for is how territorial the fish will get, and
what water conditions they can be in. Also, the smaller the fish the more
likely its gonna be eaten, though as long as its small and fast enough to
get away from danger it should be just fine. Stick to Platys instead of
Swordtails - swords may be tempted to eat up your Angels beautiful fins!
Stay funky

things like
sure some have history as fin nippers but it's the exception
2 angels (will be 1 pretty soon if ya get 2 x males tho prob)
1 bristlenose catfish
2 corys
3 australian rainbows or 3 black widow/serpae/kerri tetra or 3 platys or an
oddball like a spiney nose eel or hoplo catfish or bolivian butterfly
I like angel fish, your tank is small tho, be sure you grow bacteria on your
sponge BEFORE adding the little angels as they will not survive well in
water containing ammonia or nitrites.
I use simple air powered sponge filters for my angel tanks. I do 1/3 partial
water changes every week and squeeze out my sponge filter in a bucket of
water from the aquarium. NEVER wash under the tap.
Anyway well done on the seekin info, if only the masses would follow ya
footsteps the world would be safe for fish everywhere!

If you are sucessful to any degree with the Angels, you will not have
have room for a lot fo other fish. A cory cat maybe two, and some
small to medium Cichild will about do it. Healthy Angel fish get
rather large, and can be very easliy spooked. Best to have it in a
quiet spot and no banging on the tank or you may have a cardiac victim
