I have been receiving a lot of emails saying that they were from Microsoft
and claiming to include an update, patch, or pack that needs to be
installed. Microsoft NEVER NEVER sends such things. This is a virus. I am
posting this here because I noted that one the addresses with my latest
virus email was being sent to included at least one person that posts here.

Another particularly nasty one is one that states that it is an unsent or
returned message. This one also looks very legitimate and had I not had a
virus checker on my email I would have opened it and thereby executed it
(run the virus program).

Keep up on it, as I've gotten worms/virus on email signed by it as
"virus-free".

If your gonna use it, keep up to date on the virus definition file.

Good point...I recently received an email with an attachment that appeared
to be a "reply" to something from me (WRONG).

Good rule of thumb is...if you don't know the sender, don't open the email
attachment.

There is a good free virus program out there that works...AVG. Not sure of
th exact site, so just "google" it

The one with the message "undelivered by server" was particularly nasty
because it looked as if it was something I had sent out and it appeared that
you had to open it to see what it was you sent and to whom (this happens
legitimately)... It was only because I checked on the properties of the item
first that I caught it (right clicking on message in OE gives the properties
which gives information on path of reciever, etc.). The only reason I
bothered to look was because I had been receiving such a flooding of the
Microsoft Patch trojan so I suppose I should thank those people..... They
are getting more inventive in getting people to open viruses is why I posted
this. I have never opened a virus (been working with computers 30+yrs),
knock on wood, and this last one almost got me.

Also knowing the Sender doesn't help because most viruses work with your own
address book (if it has infected your computer) and there is no reason they
can't appear to be coming from a legitimate source (you).
