Reactor size VS Tank Size?

Does the co2 reactor size have anything to do with the size tank you are
feeding when it comes to DIY co2 systems?

Also, I am seeing more references to "traps" to catch the bubbling co2 in.
How does this eventually get back into the water? Sorry, but on the
undersrtanding of how it is absorbed, im-a-dummy.

I use an empty vodka bottle, the 1.75 L size. CO2 lasts a long time and
obtaining the bottle is a hell of a time.
