Problem priming Fluval 401. Help please!

Each time I clean the Fluval out, I have terrible problems restarting it. It
does not prime easily. Any tips please!??

Fluval pumps don't start worth a darn in a saltwater tank. I have one and I
can only use it in freshwater. It works like a champ in freshwater, but in
saltwater I have to get every bubble out of the lines and canister or it
won't start.

Make sure there is no loose media that is floating around and clogging the
return. I was putting carbon in one of my trays and small pieces worked
their way through the next tray and clogged the return.
