|
|
My friend asked me, "do my guppies look ok? they sure are getting antsy..."
were her exact words.... I recently added 2 females to her single male...
When I saw them, I really thought the females were just fat.... but I'm
kinda thinkin' we're ready to have some fry... but I'm totally unfamiliar
with guppies and how to prepare...
I looked in the guppy NG, deadsville.. many posts were a week ago, 2 unread,
basically not active...
On the net, I found lots of "stuff about guppies" but weren't informative at
all, more explanative about where they come from, and the types....
I'd just like to know how can she assist, help, care, rear, whatever happens
in the next few days... or however long....
Any suggestions are welcome...
btw, it's a 5g bow, small galaxy eclipse

Guppy females are able to deliver about every 30 days starting when they are
about 3 months old. A female due to deliver soon will have a dark gravid
spot in the anal opening area, and will have a 'squared off' look to the
front of the abdomen just under the gills.
In a 5 gallon aquarium, you do not have the room to raise all the guppies
that will be produced, so let them do their thing naturally. Some fry will
live and you should be able to have guppies perpetually with nominal care.
If you need more info, check the links and breeder's links of the
International Fancy Guppy Association.
www.ifga.org
This will get you into more definitive and factual care as you go through
the links. Ignore the dollar prices but realize that these guppies and their
breeders have the right stuff.
