2 port cichlids in a 20gal long have done it!
Surpise hatchlings. I have a 10 gallon I can use
to house the new babies but what after that?

Unplanned fry arrival.
help!

Your screwed. Get a big tank and get some oscars and feed the babies off.

sell the parents and then raise the fry in your two tanks.

I think you could get them to saleable size (which is 1.5-2" ime)
then sell the fry....if you can raise even 70% of them to 1.5-2" I would
think you could get quite a bit in return...where I shop I just get fish
credit and bulk food credit for the fry I sell..but still that means you
never have to pay for another fish

then buy fish that are more appropriate for the size of your tank...Port
cichlids can get to be 8 inches but some are smaller like 6-7 inches when
fully grown, still this is too large a fish for 2 in a 20g tank.

with a 20 gallon tank you are a little limited in what kind of cichlids you
can keep, and I don't have experience in keeping any in that size a tank,
except when raising fry.
