I just had a Female Oscar die; she had no real visual symptoms besides
her stomach looked full like she was clogged. She had just started to
clean off the black slat in the bottom of the tank and make a nest. So
I didn't think much of her staying on the bottom, but then I noticed
she couldn't swim to the top. I would pull her up to the top she would
fight like she had some spunk still left in her, but she would just
lie on the bottom on her side/head or whatever. I took a water test
into my LFS and my pH was a little low but the manager there wasn't
sure if that would cause just an ill effect.
Any help that you guys could provide would be great. Because I still
have a male and he seams to be doing fine, I want to make sure he
isn't in any danger I am in the process of using pH UP to get those
levels back up.
Thanks
Jay
