I have heard from several LFS people that it is not possible to grow
Tridacna clams or SPS corals under power compact lighting. I don't see why
not, seeing how much more intense they are than VHO bulbs. Can you all give
me your opinions on this matter?

I keep clams under pC lighting. & they grow. 60 gal, 4x55 pcs, upper 3rd
part of tank & they have new, crisp white rim around the mantle...

Depending on where they hervest the critter. If it shadow, morelikey it
require more light but if from deeper area, then no.

PC light will work but having MH will be better in the long run and will
give you more option later, too.
