Hi all, I'm new to this group and hope I don't ask too many stupid questions
but...

I have a pond in San Diego (5000 gallons). In mid summer I put two Oscars in
it and they seemed perfectly content. Because fall is moving along, I
managed to catch one and put it in a 50-55 gal tank for the winter. About
two weeks later I managed to catch the other one (no mean feat - he was
smart).

They seem to have been in a continuous aggressive lip lock since they were
placed together a couple of hours ago. Will they get over this or do I need
to separate them?

Thanks

Joe

They are about 5". Today they seem much better, even chasing the mosquito
fish I put in with them.

Thanks
Joe

How big are they (the oscars) right now. You have seriously shrunk down the
size of their teritories.

55 should be fine for now. Give the much smaller territory I would think
they are going to have to establish whos is whos.... As they get bigger the
55 is going to be way to small though. IMHO 55 is going to be to small for
1 full grown oscar much less 2. Just something for you to think about for
planning for a better future.

Jimmy
Hope this helps

Yes I know. I had originally planned to build a smaller outdoor pond
(300-500 gallons) for them and heat it, but I'm having some technical issues
like how to heat that much water without going broke.
