ill make it quick its UGLY and hard to work with, and you might need a few lbs to get a
good start but if you want biodiverse look no further.

i have bought 20lbs and 5lbs and 1lb, the 1lb wasnt worth the shipping, though i was just
doing it as i was ordering anyways.

....when they are thier own. hehe.

Here's the deal. Feel free to put in your 4 cents.

I'm in need of some nice biodiverse sand. I have an existing bed of
course/sugary mix. only 2" though. Looking to plop down another inch or so.

I'm in MA (for shipping consideration) and dont mind paying for
something if it is worth it.

What's ye'alls experience. I hear Mail Order is the way to go. I picked
my stuff up from LFS's....2 different stores. Store #2 is suspected of
mixing thier own with southdown (no biodiversity there).

Any opinions welcome, especially if they start and argument.

IMO and IME the best way to accomplish what your after is to just get you a
bag of sand of preference and wash it and put it in the tank, then get some
good LR and let it "seed" your sand.

There are companies that sell small quantities of live sand. IPSF "Miracle
mud" and GARF "GARF grunge" can seed dead sand with beneficial organisms.
