Did you try Wally's Aquarium? It is on Little River Turnpike 2 or 3 miles
east of SuperPetz. They've been there for a good long time. I've only been
in there once in the last 10 years (living in MA now). The selection is not
as big as SuperPetz, but they were always very helpful.

Been living up here for more than a few years now, but know of few
fish stores.

Anyone in the Washington DC Greater Metro Area have any
recommendations?

I've visited the two in Leesburg, both have been there a long time,
and must have something going for them to remain in business.

Tonight I visited SuperPetz in Annandale and was impressed with the
way the tanks looked, all clean, nothing obvious, and fairly decent
foot traffic, some people obviously having several tanks.

The PetLand down the street look sad. 5 out of 12 Betas appeared to
have Ich... white spots all over them. A number of tanks were cloudy
and just didn't look clean.

Other than the Wal-marts/PetSmarts/Petcos, what else is there in our
area?

Thanks....

Well... depending on how far you willing to drive...

From I-695, take the MD-26 W exit- exit number 18B- toward
RANDALLSTOWN. Merge onto MD-26/LIBERTY RD. After 3 miles, turn RIGHT
onto OFFUTT RD. We are located in Randallstown Plaza Shopping Center.

There is a BIG LFS there called "the Aquarium Center" that has been in
business for over 20 years. I started out with this guy when he only
had 10 tanks in his mothers house... now he is one of the biggest I
have ever had the pleasure to deal with.

These people know their business when it comes to fish. Salt, Fresh,
Pond whatever. Online prices seem a lil on the high side, but their
fish store is great. Good place to purchase live foods

It's about 45 minutes to an hour from the Washington beltway... They
can and do pack fish with oxygen for extended trips and/or shipping.

Joe,

We didn't actually make it that far. AFter dinner at Ripsters, and
our stop at SuperPetz the baby was ready for bed. Since it takes
about an hour to get home, we decided to save Wally's for another
time.

Thanks for the recomendation.

Bannor,

Thanks. Tis a bit far, unless we knew we could only get something
there. I have visted their website before.

They are on my list of pseudo-local places, and if we are ever in the
Baltmore area with spare time, we do intend to drop in.

Thanks for the suggestion.

There is a "small" fish store called Centreville Aquarium on rt 29 @ rt

Buzz,

Not sure why I didn't see them in the yellow pages... Are they in the
same shopping center as Oak Post furniture, or across the street as
the online map seems to indicate.

Thanks!!

Tony,
Across the street from the Coplands restaurant where the 7/11 store is.
It's a small store but Dave has always more than helpful and friendly.
