I've got a CPR Back Pack - R version. It seems t be skimming alright
as it generates about a quarter cup of foul smelling green liquid each
day but it makes a lot of noise.

Any solutions to this issue?

The air tubing that is coming out of the powerhead needs to have a wooden
airstone attached to it. Keep that airstone dry, and it will run silently and
efficiently.
