Hi,

I've recently been boosting my ALK and CA (up to 10.5 and 430 respectively)
and I've noticed that my mushrooms are expanding much more and the small
tentacle stubs are extending more. My various polyps seem to be extending
more than before as well.

I've been assuming this is a good thing, but the thought occurred to me that
maybe they're expanding to get more of something they're not getting enough
of as a result of additions. My PH runs between 7.9 and 8.05.

Any thoughts? Are my animals happy?

Peter

Peter,

They sound happy to me. I feed phytoplankton to my tank every other day, and my
soft population has really shown growth as a result.

The high goal for Alkalinity is 11 dKH. (8 - 11 dKH is the range)
Calcium is 400 to 450 ppm.
