Monterey Sand

Can anyone tell me if the Monterey sand available at the
local fish store is the same as the Monterey sand I can buy
(for much less) at the local home improvement store sold as
sand for sandblasting?

sometimes it is, generally though the fish store version has been processed
for grain size. though both can have less than optimal results.
