101 Dalmatians meant 1000001 Dalmatians at he humane society.

Finding Nemo, means 1000001 clowns and tangs flushed down the toilet

At an eight year olds wim.

My 2 cents,

Wow. That was an amazing example of what NOT to do to set up an aquarium.
Let's see....... two clown fish, a blue hippo tang, a serpent star, "some"
seahorses, and it looks like a coral banded shrimp, all in a 5 gallon tank.
So, right after adding water conditioner, it's okay to start stocking like
mad.

"Set the bag in the tank for 5 or 10 minutes before adding the fish to the
tank." Amazing.

I was surprised that they all didn't kill over right there on the show. I'm
sure they all died from Ich within hours.

GAWD their website doesn't even give a decent explanation of setting up a
freshwater tank.. they don't even deal with marine tanks at all.. their
stuff is freshwater... SHEEESH They don't even talk about cycling or
anything.. just set it up dechlor and dump in your *first few fish* they
say. I swear I am not going to keep ragging on about this here but something
needs to be done about this stupidity. I already wrote them expressing my
absolute outrage at that TV segment and all the beautiful fish they are
condemning to die horrible deaths because of it. I guess they don't have to
worry about that Tang getting to big for that tank.. it won't survive the
cycling anyway.

LOL I think I'll skip that.. I get *bent* enough as it is. I just hope
everyone has at least taken the time to write a quick little note to Tetra..
just in case anyone wants to...

http://tetra-fish.com/
The *contact us* is in the menu on the left.

I guess what really hacks me off the most is they are a freshwater aquarium
company!! Just because a few of their products are also ok for salt water,
someone apparently decided that made them a marine expert. I just got back
from running up to *Petschmaltz* to buy new food and other things, NOT
TETRA, because I went around with a trash bag and tossed out everything that
said Tetra on it.... even a box of replacement filter pads for a couple of
my HOBs on the freshwater tanks. I know it was a silly waste but it just
really bugs me and I told them I was going to do it and replace everything
with ANYthing but Tetra products... so I have the receipt to prove it..
along with the $60+ chunk out of my pet budget for the month that I wasn't
planning on but it was worth every cent.

This is pretty horrific. They didn't even put salt in the water.
They are salt water fish! Sadly, that movie is going lead to a lot of
painful deaths for tropical fish.

Jeez! Talk about a blatant attempt to jump on the Nemo bandwagon.

I am considering adding a little American flag and statue to my reef tank,
however.

ok.. I did go read.. lots there and skimmed and didn't see that people were
doing that, lol.. and since I just did it today that trash bag is still
sitting here, lol. guess where it's going tomorrow. (Makes me glad though
that it was just the filter pads that were tetra and not the whole filters,
lol. I would have had to replace 6 of them.)

Since you didn't opt to read that thread, let me point out that a couple of
people mailed their tetra products back to Tetra in disgust.
How big is that trash bag? Wanna make a statement?

Teeb,

Here are about 35 pages of similar feelings for you to enjoy. slowly>

For those of you in the newsgroup that didn't see the clip, I'm putting it up
one last time:

Marc, equally disgusted.
