I have a 10 gallon tank with a heater, keep the chemicals balanced,
nitrite, nitrate, amonia etc and keep at 80 degrees. My Bettas last a couple
of weeks and then stop eating and die. I have asked people at various fish
stores and they tell me different things but not one has prevented them from
dying.I have a filter running, change the eater 25% every 2-4 weeks and am
at a loss why they die.If anyone can help or point me in the right direction
I would appreciate it.

I don't believe you actually are testing or know what the hell
ammonia,nitrite or nitrate are.
everytime ones dies
YOU clean it out and get a new one
ammonia/nitrite spike each time
30% water change EVERY week
that doesn't keep em alive nuthin will
use de-chlorinator

Go to the store and buy Distilled Water , here they cost 90 cents a
gallon ...Go buy a few gallons and use that to refill your tank..
Also try not to splash the water a whole lot when you pour it in .. |

Don't be a fool.
at most use 50% distilled.
Even then adding a chunk of shellgrit and a splash of black unsweetened tea
would be a plan.
These fish are from cokeacola coloured lowland swamp.
distilled/RO etc are not the best idea
they will leech stuff outta ya fish
ok so thats the VERY short version of the answer but yea
even with a good diet, too pure a water will cause probs. |
