what helps soften the water in a fresh water fish tank...driftwood?
I want to sea shells in my tank and I know they harden the water ...
but what helps the water to soften both balance it ...
I heard that water Driftwood softens a little.
A shell will harden the water to a large extent. Hard or soft water that is not as important as people think. The key is to not change the alkalinity of the water at too fast fish size to adjust.
