Hi, over past few weeks my tank water has been getting cloudy, but after
doing a water change it doesn't seem to help it, last weekend I took out
half the water which helped for a bit but then it went back to being as bad
as before, I went to the local shop and they gave me stuff to remove the
cloudiness of the water but it doesn't seem to be helping any.

Has anyone got any ideas?

What do you have in your tank? How big is it? What type of gravel, fish,
plants, rocks? How long has it been established? Have you tested the
water lately?

I had this, with a slight green tinge. It was sorted when I turned up the
temperature one degree.
If you are going to try this, do so one notch at a time and leave to settle
for a few days before trying further.
Good luck!

New Tank? Old Tank? If the cloudiness has a slight green tinge to it,
it would probably be an algae bloom. If it has no tinge to it i.e. just
cloudy, could be a bacterial bloom.
Bacterial bloom is common in new tanks, as the bio critters get
situated. In older tanks; something that causes a die off of the
bacterial colony in your bio filter can cause a suspended bacterial
"bloom" making the tank cloudy.
