Buying a new dresser for my son and he will have 10 gallon saltwater tank sitting on it.
aquarium should definitely be based on some soft surface, my favorite of them was Styrofoam plate as they are in different thicknesses and easy to reduce to fit.
really is no serious need to cover the entire drawer.
